i have a 2000 chevy cavalier. when i slow down, and then hit the gas, like at stoplights for ex., it jerks. then in the last 2 days it has started dying at stoplights. it will sit at the stoplight fine, but when i let off the break and start to hit the gas, it dies. whats the problem? how much will it more than likely cost to fix it?

Hi, i was just wondering if a pollen filter shood be waterproof. what prevents rain water from going past it. should ther be a cover over it?? its just that my tigra is colecting water below the pollen filter.. its just going through it from the grills above. any ideas?? thanks

We have an issue with our car in which the Engine Management light comes on often and the car switches itself to Emergency Drive mode (I guess it's 'car-speak' for 'undriveable')

This happened a while back and the mechanic turned or flipped something under the bonnet that made the car more driveable in order to get the car to the garage.

Does anybody know how I can do this to my car? I need to get somewhere but Im not sure how to over-ride the emergency mode.

I know I shouldn't tamper with the car, but its urgent.

Any ideas?

I have abs but only two brakes work (diagonaly) how do i know this well on the lift when the brake is applied the two diagonal tires spin freely. This is after my mechnic tried bleeding the brakes because he installed wheel cylinder and brakes. I want to know if my master cylinder is bad? or is it my brake lines? What could it be???

My 1995 gmc safari 4.3L ecm b fuse constantly blows out. After i warmed the van up i take it for a ride and the van turn's off,i check the fuses and the ecm b fuse is blown. I replace it and it will start again take short drive and does it again. Can anyone help me on this...

The other day my car started to loose power on the freeway(as it has so many times before) I pulled over a few times and restarted it..Soon after I smelled somthing burning and when I opened the hood, oil was leaking from the air breather onto the exaust manifold and had caught on fire. After further inspection I realized that oil was also in the air filter houseing as well as all over the filter. The car is able to start and run. Any Ideas Please let me know.

I was having trouble with my car starting, so i took the starter out and put it back in after testing it, finding there was a short in a wire. In this i disconnected the battery for my 94 camaro. The car now runs, but my security light is on and my stereo does not come on. What can i do to fix this?

1974 chevy 350- outer ear of starter bolt hole is broken off- is there a viable repair? fresh rebuild- has not been started yet- installed in truck and ear broke off when attempting to start the first time.

can a car backfires because the muffler isn't good? or can be a different reason why it's doing it,i want to know before i take it to the muffler shop and pay all the money ......DETAILS .>> it's a old car:oldsmobile year 89 delta 88, fuel injection,3.8 liters,6 cylinders, never had mayor problems with it;but i was reading my car repair book and couldn't find a secction where the muffler can be blamed for a backfiring!

sometimes it won't go up at all, but if I yank as hard as I can, it will go up slowly (this is the driver side) on the passenger side, I can make the window go down, but it will only go up if I use the passenger side switch, it won't go up with the driver side master switches...are these two problems related?? Thanks
