Well there you go. Off of the information given here I would be inclined to think you have a vacuum leak. Is the check engine light on? There is the chance that the throttle position sensor is bad, I've also had broken wires at the intake air temperature sensor cause similar complaints. You should have the computer scanned (not just a code reader scan) and have a professional analyze the data stream. There are about 100 things that could cause a problem like this and throwing parts at it will cost you more in the long run than just getting it fixed right the first time.

people who answer questions should know what they are talking about This problem has nothing to do with octane ratings, or injector cleaner in every tank of gas,(you should not use it EVERY tank, every third or fourth tank is sufficient). At first guess, I would say to have your map/maf sensor checked, the map/maf( manifold-absolute-pressure/ mass-air-flow) sensor is bad, it will not 'tell' the computer the proper air flow, thus the computer cannot allow the proper fuel to be delivered, causing the stall condition. This is not the only thing that can cause this complaint, but it will give you a starting point. Fuel filter plugged up COULD attribute to the problem also, changing it is cheap insurance, bad, or not. Hope this helps.

First problem is cavalier.... I have always heard nothing but horror stories ....no way to guess about cost could be a sensor , fuel supply as most GM cars have internal fuel pumps (in the gas tank) which adds to the expense...and why on GM cars you should never let the tank get below half a tank it burns out the pump my friend has had that problem a lot, but your problem sound more like idle needs adjusting or could be bad fuel, best thing to do is take it in to a auto. tech. NOT PRECISION TUNE , or these quick lube places, but a Garage ....it would not only simplify your problem ,but it will tell you exactly what the problem is verses guessing at it .( saves headaches )

Your car is equipped with a computer controlled engine management system. Scan your computer for fault or error codes. The information should pinpoint the malfunctioning components. Your idle speed control motor is what we would look at. After your scan call around to see who will give you the best deal for repairs.

im not sure how you would fix it, but it sounds like your engine isnt getting the gas it needs. you should bring it in to your local car machanic and he will check all you gas lines, your engine could also be flooded so it might have to be cleaned out, and it could be your engine has had enough and u might need a new engine. hope that helps you

the brake booster is leaking air (or better says vaccum)from intake manifold.
I state that, because ,You car does it on stops only
one more helpful hint,do not buy that booster from Auto Zone,
any other place but Auto Zone.(in this specific case only)

I know it costs more, but run a higher octane gas thru it. It won't disappear right away, but it should help.
