The water only gets in the oil if I drive it in stop and go traffic or short trips. But when driven on 100+ mile trips no water... I check it every 2 hours to see, but no water. Any ideas

Whenever I drive, the car engine sounds abnormally loud. It sounds loud whenever I accellete and at rest it sounds loud too. The car drives fine (I think, I can't really tell if there's a huge difference), I am just worried that it may be a transmission problem, or an expensive muffler problem. When my car is in park, the engine DOES make a funny noise, but it's been there the whole time I've had the car. The loud engine has been going on for months with no performance problems, but now I am just getting concerned. The engine noise started AFTER I took it in for an oil change, about 6 months ago (after not having an oil change for a long, long time). I am looking to get another oil change, but not if it makes the car even worse. Will not getting an oil change for a long long time, and then having an oil change cause engine problems? Or, to cause the engine to sound too loud, like it is revving?

I think the engine should purr, not roar.

This is a 2000 Infiniti i30.

Why do people remove the catalytic converters on cars? Other than making a car sound like a lawn mower, what are the advantages of this?

I know they do it because supposedly it increases the horsepower of a car or something.

I live in Florida where the annual vehicle inspection is not mandatory so they don't have to worry about that.

Does it hurt your car if you never warm it up?

We're having a debate at work. I say warm up your car for at least 10 minutes. Other co-workers say it doesn't matter. The car will warm up when you drive it.

Just bought 85' Merkur XR4Ti, i have all parts just not put together completely wanting to make into racer what would be the best parts (performance) or best way to accomplish this task?? Any help would be appreciated, I have not worked on Merkurs before but know it's potential. Very interested in knowing what other Merkur owners may have to say.

This one is kind of hard to explain, but here it goes... While I'm driving at anywhere between 45-60 m.p.h. and let off the accelarator there is a sound and a vibration in the floorboard. The sound kind of immitates that of when you drive over those slow down rumble strips before a stop sign. The sound and vibrations last for about 1-2 seconds and happen every 6-7 seconds. There are no visual leaks underneath the truck and the tires are inflated to spec. I found a flat road and let off the gas and shut the motor off in nuetral and it still made the sounds and vibrations.

Any ideas on what this might be? Any further information that may be needed can be provivded.
