How much would professional sandblasting cost for a 2000 ford explorer, and will sandblasting the frame weaken it at all?

Go to an auto parts store and find the rust remover, sorry I can't remember the name but it is a pink color, just paint it on wash it off the dry it well and prime the metal. another way is to sand, sand and sand some more or you can sand blast it off with a blaster, its a lot of work but the best way. Good Luck and GOD Bless

try this site on for size. You won't have to prep the metal by taking any rust off. You just put it on over the rust and it kinda takes over the rust and stop it from spreading. Then you can put on your undercoating on top of that for a weather proof coating.

spraying undercariage with wd40 is a good start or if it is real bad i suggest oven cleaner just dont get it on the plactic parts or you can use all a barbecue type brush or all three works best spray oven cleaner the scrub with a barbecue brush rinse with a hose then when alsmost completley dry spray undercarriage with wd-40 let dry then coat underside good luck

go to the home depot and ask somebody, they have the stuff, but i can't remember the name, good luck! though it's fine not to take the rust off first cause the weatherproofer kills it itself!
