got a rover 820i was all running ok went into the shop an when tried to turn car on it wont start and a red light started flashing thnk it could be the immobiliser but dont have code

it is probably something simple like a starter motor or the alternator it wont cost you too much money , it the battery starts clicking when you turn it on then it is the starter motor just a simple push could start it , please let me know how you go on ,hallandyajhall@yahoo.co.uk,

It does sound like the immobiliser, on rovers it is turned off by the remote key fob not a code, you might need an auto electrician to remove it if you dont have a remote.

it isthe imoboliser you will need the fob to dissable it
if you have still trouble then you need the key unlock code
to reprograme the fob it needs dealer to do it
had same trouble with a 218 rover still one of the best cars Ive had

This sometimes works with these problems. Disconnect the battery, leave for a few hours for the ecu to reset itself. Then reconnect and it may clear itself.

You need to contact your local Rover dealership and ask them for advice. Lol.
