i all ready know the firing order on the cap

is the same. on the cap
and is also in the top of the intake manifold.
and it may be 1 5 3 6 4 2.but I am not 100% sure.

Firing order for 460 is 1 5 4 2 6 3 7 8

To find the #1 piston look for the side closest to the front of the vehicle and start there. If you know the firing order then you should be fine. You could get a book at an auto parts store and it will show you as well. Good Luck and GOD Bless

Ford aerostar, cross mounted engine, (sideways)
Stand at the passenger side fender looking at the engine.
Left side of engine, ( near firewall ) , cylinders 1 - 2 - 3. , #1 being closest to you, right side of engine, ( near radiator ) cylinders 4 - 5 - 6, #4 being closest to you. The #1 cylinder on all Ford engines is always on the left side at the front of the engine. See example
