when the ABS flashes/illuminated this is to warn of a fault.
with the engine running try turning the key forward as some cars have a reset, as it may of just tripped out.
you brakes will work as normal but without the ABS part, so if you brake to hard you will skid.
go get it checked, it is there to preserve life, not just a gadget.

Hello,
(ANS) The problem you have here needs to be put into perspective. In a car if you have "any" doubtes about the vehicles ability to brake safely then you need to have the vehicle checked out. You cannot afford to risk your own life, the life of your passengers, & other road users in case the ABS system fails when you actually need it.
**If you drive the car as it is may be you'll be lucky & nothing will happen but what if your life depends upon the ABS working?? Can you really afford to take that risk??
**Personally I wouldnt trust the ABS as it is, I would have the car checked over by a good mechanic. But its your life!!!!

Yes/No ... I would take it to Advanced they'll scan it for free ... if it's just a wheel sensor and your in a pinch on cash you can make do without out it for a while ... Almost always it's a sensor I could be wrong but when 9 out of 10 are almost always sensors chances are this is the problem. FYI ... anyone who can take the tire off can change the ABS sensor on more vehicles some are more complicated ... take a look at a Chilton's or Haynes manual for help.

There may be nothing more than a loose connection somewhere but you can't take a chance with brakes or steering. Get it checked out at a garage. How would you feel if your brakes failed and you ran into someone?

l dont think it`s wise at all.the only thing you can do is to drive your car to the garage to be sorted.lt seems it is something to do with electrics.so get it fixed before the damage gets worse.
