My Lexus is still under warranty; will Toyota acknowledge the Lexus warranty and perform the work for free? It's a longshot I know, but they are part of the same parent company.

What are some of the things you can do? Computer chip, and what else? What other things besides a new engine and a computer chip?

The fuel line gets over 300 deg. after I shut off the engine. If I let the car set 15 minutes it won't start. Or starts very rough. Then after it cools down no problem.

So I drove it to a different State that did not have ethanol and tried their gas and it does not vaporlock.

I'm thinking of either adding a second fuel pump on the return line that would help perge the system of vapor. Then as soon as the engine starts it would turn off.

The car is around 140k mi. Running great. This winter I noticed tiny red spots dropping from the very front end of the car. I toke the car for diagnosis. The lower front end was totally covered with transmission fluid; also there was an oil engine leak. It seemed like the oil was leaking from the oil sending unit, and the transmission fluid was leaking from the transmission lines. “Tuffy Auto Care” asked for a total $400. This price includes; replacing the sending unit, transmission lines and flashing and the transmission fluid.
I know this may sound legit, but after calling Auto Zone, I figured the price for a sending unit to be $11 and that of transmission line full kit to be only $21.

So, if it was you in this situation what will you do? Get the parts and find a local street mechanic to replace them or go with the Tuffy big bucks choice. Is anyone out there with such or similar experience?

well where do i start? I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 2WD v6 3.0L. This problem started around the 1st of jan. When I get up in the morning at 6a.m. and i try to start my car it cranks and cranks but wont turn over.So I started giving it a little gas with the gas peddel and it starts up pretty ruff alot of shaking for about 5-8 seconds then it idol's fine and runs smooth as the day i bought it. Now for the rest of the day it starts fine, turn the key cranks 2-3 times and away I go. So what could this be? I took it to auto zone and the only code it was reading was a P1400 (EGR circuit low input) which im pretty sure has nothing to do with this crazy morning start problem i'm having. Keep in mind that this truck runs perfect as the day I bought it after I get it started first thing in the morning. Please help !

When i put the key in to turn the car on, its starts perfectly but as soon as i let go of the key, it quickly turns off in that same second. For the car to stay on i have to hold it in at its usual run spot, right before the danger zone to perevent hurting the clutch. So it seems like maybe something is wrong with the run position. does it sound like a bad ignition switch, or a bad ballast resistor. Any insight you have will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!! by the way its an 91 Acura integra. 222K.

I was 15 years old and saved up some money to buy a 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe, the Coupe's with the 200 Six cylinders were a dime a dozen back in 1986. The engine did not need to be overhauled but I did anyway. I was going to tech school for automobile mechanics, and my Dad had offered to pay for all the parts. I did all the head work myself, got all new parts, new paint job for the motor, the works. To make a long story short every little thing was replaced on the engine. Well about two weeks into all my glory of succesfully rebuilding a Ford 200 six cylinder I was on my way home with a great big head of accualy rebuilding something and it working, when all hell broke loose. She was poping through the carb, she was back firing through the tail pipe. It was so imbarising, so I pulled over let the car sit for about 5 minuets. I then turn the key and she begain to run normal. About ten more minuets of driving it all started agian. What was it? Here is a clue the part cost about $1.50
