I have an '01 Grand Prix GT and my Coolant Temperature Sensor isn't working. I know how much the sensor costs but I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the sensor and if it is very difficult?

I have almost finished installing a new engine in my Chevy Scottsdale Truck, only it won't turn over. We have put the engine to Top Dead Center and verified it by checking the valves. The engine really wants to start. I know we have spark, fuel, compression. The only thing we don't know is why there is fuel vapor being expelled from the carb. It is not constant, but rather as we crank the engine it will turn over three or four times and then "Pfffffff" it shoots this vapor in two streams out of the carb. i turned my lights on and my dashboard lights weren't as bright as normal and my speedometer was working off and on, the rpm's gage quit working also. when i got home, i turned my car off and tried to start it and i got nothing, like the battery was dead. it wouldn't turn over. it did start about 20 minutes later though, it didn't want to idle right after about 2 minutes, i pressed the accelerator and it started to sputter....what is causing this? the day before i had the starter looked at, the brushes.....could this be a short or the battery??? or something else.

I was going through an automatic car wash and it came off the conveyer. A vehicle behind me hit me and I then drove forward and my truck fell into the drainage pit. My front bumper was damaged at that time

How could it be that I purchased STOCK 17" Ford rims for my car and have PepBoys tell me they don't carry that size tire? p235/55/17

It's not like I'm trying to outfit a set of tractor wheels!!!!!!!!!

These rims and tires come on a freaking 2005 Mustang! There are trillions of Mustangs on the street and they don't have something as simple as a tire for them!?

I understand if I drive in there with a Lamborghini Diablo with 75" rims!! LOL.. but... a MUSTANG?! and they don't have it?!

They say they don't carry it.. period! That is ridiculous. It's not the first time I drive in there with a garden-variety car and they tell me they don't have tires!

My Citroen C5's engine breather snapped because it was so brittle. The RAC man taped it up and told me it is ok to drive with a taped-up broken breather. Is that true? Is it dangerous to drive with a broken breather? I intend to have it replaced as soon as possible or should I?

I have a 1995 dodge 1500 pickup with a 5.9 liter 360 magnum engine. the radiator is busted so i cant run it cause it will overheat and the brakes are out. recently its started having problems with not wanting to start and when it does start it runs really bad idles up and down and almost dies when i let off the gas then idles back up and it has a miss and i can smell fuel like its flooding out or something. i checked the oil and it smelled fine and no milky substance in it just regular oil so it cant be a head gasket problem i dont think. does anyone have any suggestions to what this could be? i would greatly appreciate it

I just changed the front brakes on my '01 Acura TL, but I've left the original pads on the rears and haven't bled the lines. My pedal feels squishy and when I start my car it can almost reach the floor before I give it a few pumps then it's fine again. Should I bleed the lines? Is there any other way to fix this without bleeding because I haven't done this before and I'm not sure how.

FYI I replaced the stock brakes with EBC brake pads.

I drive a 1998 hyundai elantra 1.6 GLS. the car has benn running smoothly for a very long time due to a good maintenance service record. Recently i noticed that when traveling at a speed of
130 km/h, the gear shifts from five to the neutral position. The gear lever sort of kicks down from fifth gear on its own as if pushed or jerked by something to the neutral/idle position. Mind you this happens with my foot only on the acclelrator and not touching the clutch. What could be the cause of this? the other gears 1 up to 4 run smoothly without latching off except for No 5 which latches off at the above mentioned speed. Does my gear box have a problem.? I dont know how the gears are linked so that when shifting the lever does not kick back. The only way is if i keep my hand on the gear lever and hold it in place(fifth gear) when driving at speeds above 130 km/h. Pliz advice,i know i have to pay the nearest mechanic a visit but i just want to know before hand what might be the cause..thanx

It doesn't always do it, only about once out of every ten cranks. When I do it, all the dashboard lights go off when the key is turned, then they all come back on when I release the key.

So...am I looking a a failing starter, a failing battery, or a failing ignition? Or worse?

It sounds as if it could be coming from the outside but im not sure. The car salesman said he thinks it could be the main baring but hes not sure. The car runs very good and smooth which seemed a little weird since it was making that loud noise. Any ideas would be a help.
