1983 dodge van electric window switch broke ,can i install a toggle switch,old van parts are hard to find

you remove the door panel and remove the wiring to the switch and use a jumper wire from current going in to switch and take the other end and hook it to the motor.....and if you don't know which wire...do them all...until the motor moves... then unplug it... but you can find old dodge parts...go to car-parts.com...this is nation wide..if that doesn't work..try vintage auto parts in texas...281-999-0191..

Yes. Go to your local library and see if you can get a wiring schematic. Then trace what wires do what and install your switch. You honestly can't find a used switch? Try www.carpart.com. Later!

Check to see if you have a window lock button. Some cars have them and some don't. If this button is pushed down, none of the windows will work.

i own a shop,and just pull the wires loose from the plug connector and jump it over,it will take two wires to do this,but at least you will be able to get the window up on it,good luck i hope this helps.
