I have almost finished installing a new engine in my Chevy Scottsdale Truck, only it won't turn over. We have put the engine to Top Dead Center and verified it by checking the valves. The engine really wants to start. I know we have spark, fuel, compression. The only thing we don't know is why there is fuel vapor being expelled from the carb. It is not constant, but rather as we crank the engine it will turn over three or four times and then "Pfffffff" it shoots this vapor in two streams out of the carb. If anyone feels that they can help, Please do and if you feel compelled you can call me at 208-577-7979. I am not oppossed to sending a gratitude via paypal to someone who calls with a solution.
