I just bought a 97 blazer 2 weeks ago and yesterday my windshield wipers stopped working. I was checking on the net to see if anyone else had the same problem and what the fix was for it. I found that year model had a recall of the wiper circuit board and motor cover due to them catching on fire. How do I know if the previouse owner had this fixed and can I still bring it to a chevy dealer and have it fixed under the recall even though I am not the original owner. the recall apparently came out in 2003.

My work friend has just had her tyre changed in the car park at work by one of those comapnies that come out when you call them. In the process the threading of one of the holds has been wiped out and one of the bolts has fallen off. This now means the whole wheel will have to be replaced. The garage are saying the damage could have been done by the last person who serviced the car. Who is libel, my friend now has a big repair bill!

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have a 2000 protege with a major leak. I have removed the carpet and plastics from the trunk to follow the dirt trail to search for the leak. There was an accumalation of water in the spare tire and tool kit area. The carpet on the floor in the back seat passenger side is soaking wet and when you fold down the back seat the very base of it is also soaking wet. The dirt trail starts here.

It appears that there is no water seeping down into the car i.e. from the back windshield or tail lights or trunk lid. I believe that it is coming up from a possible rush hole in the wheel well. The location of the hole is not visable from the trunk so I am thinking it is located just beyond site under the back seat.

My question is how do I find this hole? Can I locate it by taking off the tire and looking at the wheel well? Does the back seat have to come out? Is there any sealant or undercoating that can be applied to the wheel well to seal holes?

It's equipped with the scandalous dex-cool antifreeze. My engine light came on the other day and I had a diagnostics ran through my On Star and they said it had something to do with my cooling system. I found out the part that needs to be replaced. Yesterday I recieved a class action law suit from the State of Missouri that states dex-cool that is equipped in all 96 - to current models are causing major problems. Symptoms including a sludge like forming on the radiator cap. Which has happened to mine. It also states that it can also cause many major problems like corroding the engine and eating away at the gaskets. Has anyone else had a problem with thier GM model and or with this sludge like stuff? It's totally wierd. I think I'm selling mine asap.

I have an issue with my 98 Fiesta Zetec 1.25. When I apply the handbrake on a hill, it does not hold the car stationary. I can even push the car on the flat and get it to move when the handbrake is on. Know the rear brakes are drum brakes. Does it require new brakes or can the existing ones be adjusted tighter???

My battery split and leaked acid into engine causing the plate underneath the battery and the surrounding metal to have the paint striped away. The autoelectrician put what i think is blue rust preventer (the same stuff that is on the terminals) on the plate, is this enough to prevent further rusting or should i paint with rust preventing enamel?? Thanks

and of course it took them longer then expected to do the job.
Now should they be allowed to charge me extra time for doing the job when they already told me that it would cost so much?

Why do people think a diagnostic of a vehicle with a running problem is nothing more than "pulling with a scanner" a "code"? Doing diagnostics for over 20 yrs now, just because a code is in the computer doesn't mean that part is bad. So why then does Autozone sell you a part just because it has for example a code for an O2 sensor? Does that mean than you are going to buy a transmission because it sets a trans code? Trained techs do more than pull a code, charge you 80 bucks and put a part in, because most are not the fault of a sensor. If you get your "free" scan from autozone and it doesn't fix your complaint, does autozone stand behind you and let you return a electrical part?

One month ago, the temperature gauge of my 1996 Ford aerostar(3.0L) will move to normal after 20-minute driving. Now, the gauge always stayed at cold position even when I short circuited the coolant sensor connector to engine ground. I replaced the two coolant temperature sensors. The engine code is still P0118. When the ignition switch was turned on, the voltages measured were:(1) 4.0 volts measured between the one-wire coolant sensor connector and engine ground. (2) 2.8 volts measured between the green wire of the two-input sensor connector and ground. (3) 0.1 volts measured on the white wire of the two-input coolant sensor connector and ground. When the ignition switch was turned off, the resistance measured were: (1) 45 Ohms measured on the one-wire coolant sensor connector and ground (2) 14K Ohms measured on the green wire of the two-wire coolant sensor connector. (3) 0.1 Ohms measured on the white wire of the two-wire coolant sensor connector and ground. Any idea will help.

I just bought a used car, with tires that looked new. One tire was flat when I first saw it, but it was filled with air at a gas station, and seemed fine for about four weeks, but now is flat again. Isn't there some spray that will fix it? What is the best way to fix a slow leak?

Recently, someone keyed my old '95 Ford Ranger from the left tail light to about 4 feet over to the right of the tail gate. Is there anything I can buy to fill in this huge key mark? Like touch-up paint perhaps?
