I just bought a 97 blazer 2 weeks ago and yesterday my windshield wipers stopped working. I was checking on the net to see if anyone else had the same problem and what the fix was for it. I found that year model had a recall of the wiper circuit board and motor cover due to them catching on fire. How do I know if the previouse owner had this fixed and can I still bring it to a chevy dealer and have it fixed under the recall even though I am not the original owner. the recall apparently came out in 2003.

Even if there has been a recall on your particular vehicle type, it does not mean necessarily that yours needs to be repaired. They go on the VIN# and it depends where and when yours was built. You have your vehicle registered in your name with the VIN# so if there was a recall that included yours, they will let you know.
You can also go to the dealership and they can very easily look everything up for you.

Take it to the dealer. If the service has been done, there will be a record of it and when it was done. Some recalls are only good for a set period of time so don't waste too much time checking into it. Good luck.

Just contact the dealer and give them the vehicle ID number, they'll tell you.
