i answered your other question about the bent frame, if you are having all of these problems with the car, it will be cheaper in the long run for you to get a new one.

With your Talon, the serpentine belt travels around several pulleys. Power steering, alternator, water pump, crank, idler pulley, and tensioner. I would start looking first at the tensioner and idler pulleys to see if either of them have locked up, or at least are not working like they are supposed to. Check the rest of the pulleys for damage, even a small bit of damage on one pulley can shorten the life of your belt. Also, if you get enough of the power steering fluid on your belt, that will shorten the life of the belt. Some power steering pumps can be rebuilt, so the leak stops, but in some cases, if its leaking, there could be further failure internally with the pump, so it will be best to replace that leaking pump and inspect the lines to make sure they are not the cause as well.
Good luck.

The answer to your question is that your belt keeps burning up and so it rubs when the engine is running your belt is rubbing up against something... So you'll need to have someone check if the alternator is to close to the block so you can fix that and stop going through to many belts...

Check the tension of the belt. Double check the alignment as well. You may want to get that power steering leak fixed or you'll be putting another alternator on.

Is the fluid dripping on the belt? Is there another pulley or Idler pulley that is set up and does not spin?
