When i put the key in to turn the car on, its starts perfectly but as soon as i let go of the key, it quickly turns off in that same second. For the car to stay on i have to hold it in at its usual run spot, right before the danger zone to perevent hurting the clutch. So it seems like maybe something is wrong with the run position. does it sound like a bad ignition switch, or a bad ballast resistor. Any insight you have will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!! by the way its an 91 Acura integra. 222K.

You have a worn ignition switch. Replace it.

I had that problem with a Chrysler product,It was called a "Ballast
Resister,It looked like Porcelin, located under Hood at centerof firewall,Chev.Had a Fused link same location, This thing allowed more Amps to flow while cranking,It had two coiled wires running thru it,On start up both allowed amps to flow, release key from start position. only one carried amps,Some of these are sealed, some are not.
