I prefer Edelbrock, mainly from the bad experiences I had with the Holly's they put on the 70's 318 dodge, the float always sticking. I am sure the newer ones are much better. I had an 1100 CFM Edelbrock on a 351, and it never gave me any problem, and had great perfomance. Many of my friends sware by Holly's. I think it is just personal preference. I have heard many say that hollys will give more power and edelbrocks are more reliable, but I am not sure how much I believe this. For me I have had great results with edelbrock, so why change.

carb or manifold ?

what is the application, what else was done to the car ?
Personally I think edelbrock has a better manifold than holey, but holly has a better carb than edelbrock.

But there are better choices, Like an offenhauser manifold with a predator carb.

This question is very vague.
