I'm currently in the process of looking for a used car. I have a specific budget that won't allow me to buy low miles less than 3 years old car.

As such, I'm trying to weight the pros and cons of buys a car with either. 1: Low miles older vintage say 6 years and older.
2: High mileage buy say 3 years and newer.

From what I can gather, wear and tear caused buy usage, high miles, 75K or more is probably harder on a car than age.

However, I don't know how old a low mileage car can be before it becomes a reliability problem.

I'm looking at a 2000 Toyota Avalon with 29k miles. If the car is in good/excellent condition, can I expect it to be reliable for several years to come? Or is a high miles 75K 2003 Avalon a better bet?

My windshield washer is not working. I can hear the pump running (and yes, the reservoir is full!) but nothing comes out. It stopped working this fall so I know it's not just frozen. I think there is a clog in the line. Would love suggestions & hints for unclogging it. Should I be able to easily un- & re- attach the tubing? It's a Plymouth Breeze, if that matters. :-)

The original problem was I burned up my brakes coming down a mountain with my boat. Every since then they have never been the same. When this happed the pedal went all the way to the floor and the brake light came on. I had the truck towed home and started with the front rotors, calipers, and so on. The fluid was burnt as well so I flushed the lines as best as I could after replacing the booster and the master cylinder. Then I moved to the rear and replaced everything there as well. Like I said before I replaced everything that I could. This system should not be that complicated. But I'm out of ideas.

I do have rear drum brakes which was also replaced. New drums, wheel cylinders, and shoes. There is no leak in the system. Everything from the master cylinder to each wheel was bled over and over again. I have replaced everything in the brake system that I could. Unless I'm forgetting something. And yes the rear brakes were properly adjusted. I just simply out of ideas and still no brakes. Thanks for all the help. And if you have any more ideas I would certainly appreciated it. Thanks again.

do I have shocks or struts? Approximately how much should I expect to pay someone to fix it? It makes noises over pot holes and bumps so I am pretty sure that is what it is.
