Whats a good average price to re-do the head gasket??So that i can try not to pay too much....plus, is it worth my money to buy the 4x4 and SUV oil, or is castrol syntec blend 5w-30 just as good for it?

Nothing wrong with the Castrol 5 W 30 SAE oil. If you have been using the Synthetic, continue, but don't start it with an older vehicle that hasn't been running it, as serious leaks will develop.
As for the cost of the head gasket job, it depends on the area of the nation you live in, and how much must be done in addition to the repair (resurface the head, valve grind, broken bolts, etc.) But expect to pay somewhere between $1,000.00 to $1,500.00.

Good Luck and Merry Christmas

Use 5W30 for low milage motors. 10W30 when you get over 100K on it. Head gaskets on this model are tough to replace. Lot's of crap on top of the engine. It's a real mess. I would expect to see a $300-$500 charge to replace the gasket. It's an all day job. Good luck.
