I have a 1998 Dodge Neon and live in WI, When it is real cold outside my door ajar lamp on instrument panel and dome light flicker or stay on when I am driving. I have checked to make sure all doors are shut tight but it still happens. When car has been in garage where it is warmer for awhile the problem goes away untill I drive it awhile in the cold again. Does anyone know what could cause this?

your door switch is probably out of adjustment or your door latch is set too loose, quick fix at a shop ask them to adjust the switch first and try it

Likely you have a marginal electrical connection somewhere. As it gets cold, the metal to metal contact is broken because the cold has caused the metal to contract ever so slightly... but just enough to drive you bonkers.

Removing each door switch and reattaching it might help.. dont forget the trunk if it has a sensor.

If that doesn't work you will likely have to get a wiring diagram and trace the system to each connector and make sure it is tight and connected.

good luck

Fords have complicated door ajar switches that get caught each and all of the time. Spray some penetrating oil into the door latches and slam the door numerous cases. it would desire to in undemanding terms be a non everlasting restoration. The switches are confusing to replace and are fixed interior the door on the edge of the latch
