I had a car accident a few days ago and the lady hit the front passenger tire and it went flat. The car (97 Nissan Pathfinder) was drivable so we put the full size spare on and while driving home it was making a whistling type noise and it was also pulling to the right. What could this noise possibly be and why is it pulling? Any help is welcome. I kinda wanna know what to tell a mechanic. Thanks in advance!!

the coolant temp. keeps getting up past halfway, almost all the way to the red if i dont crank up the heat.

i just refilled the coolant - but didnt flush it out or mix it with water... dont know if that could cause problems.

I think I might have a leak in my exhaust. When It was replaced the new muffler was just clamped on to the pipes shouldnt it be welded on? The clamps dont do too well of a job because there are spaces around the pipe and muffler the pipe seems a little too skinny to fit into the muffler and stay snug. would I be able to use that metal tape that they use to fit ducts togeher it has a temp. rating of 200 degrees F. is that safe to use on an exhaust pipe to seal the space I used the tape to kinda fix some rust spots and the adhesive on the tape is ridiculously strong. If anyone could help I would appreciate it

upon taking it in for an oil change, was told there's an oil leak from the distributor onto a hose underneath; they suggest replacing the distributor (it's the original), and hoses-for quite a sum. how do i know if they're right?

Today I went to have an oil and filter change for my 1997 Mazda 626. It is a great little second car with mileage of 83,678. The body is in excellent condition, and it runs very well.

While doing the oil job, with my car up on the lift, my mechanic showed me that the "spring" behind the front wheel base on the driver's side was broken and as a result the car was a bit off center.
He said this was probably caused by hitting to many potholes over the years and I have certainly hit my share living in the Northeast. He also mentioned taht if I don't replace this spring it could possibly puncture the tire while I am driving and who knows what could happen. Obviously, he will have to replace the spring on the other side as well too keep the front balanced.
The price is reasonable, but has anyone ever heard of this?

I have a 1998 Ford Escort, automatic, 2.0 L, SOCH engine, 98900 miles. There is an erratic skipping within my car. The following has been done: changed plugs, new coil pack, new IAC, new PCV & connector hose, new timing belt and associated tensioner, new fuel filter. The fuel pressure holds steady at 30 PSI. There is currently no "check engine" light on. It was driven after each of these items were replaced and at times the problem appeared to be corrected, such as after replacing the IAC, but the problem returns. There was a check engine light indicating a bad IAC and one showing #1 cylinder misfire on different occasions which explains why the IAC and the coil pack were changed. A timing light showed the misfire was coming from the coil pack. The car seems to be worsening. When I contacted Ford, they said it would cost about $1,000.00 to upgrade the software and replace all of the already replaced items before they did anything.

What can you tell me?
