Your head gasket is not necessarily blown, it is most likely leaking. Before freaking and going to a rip-off mechanic, put some head gasket sealer in you radiator.Follow the directions perfectly, because if you deviate, the seal will not adhere. You can find this stuff at Autozone or any car parts place. It is a well kept secret amongst mechanics who charge you $1000 for a new head gasket when they really just dumped this $5 bottle of stuff n your radiator.

With the engine idling, the headgasket sealer will migrate to the head gasket leak and plug it.

I don't think you blew a head gasket, It must have overheated pretty bad, and you have a warped set of heads. Normally, a cracked block comes from winter time freeze up, ice expands and cracks the block.

If you are mechanically inclined, remove the heads and have them checked for being in tolerance for flatness. I think you will find they are warped.

The heads can be milled back into tolerance, or you can go to an auto salvage yard, and buy a pair of heads and with new head gaskets, you are back in business. Aside from losing coolant, no other damage is going to occur. You might be missing on one or two because of the head warp.

Good Luck, if I was there, I would give you a hand.

You are correct Head Gasket and hopefully the engine block and cyl. head are not cracked too. $$$ Any engine past 70,000 miles needs also to be torn down and rebuilt after a overheating. Just to be reliable and not use oil because of piston rings weakened from the high temps. Or possibility of burnt valves.

Head gasket or head would be first guess. But block is possible. You might be getting oil in water, water in oil. If you take the radiator cap off do you see air bubles coming up? That is generally a sure sign of head or gasket. (be sure car isn't hot when pulling cap).
If water in oil you need to move quickly, not good on cylinders.

yes. its more then likely a blown head gasket. i just had one fixed on my daughters car. it cost me a 1000 bucks. it also could be a cracked engine block.
