and how hard is it to change?

I picked the brain of an auto technician and believe that changing this will solve my problem (car won't start when it's rainy/moist outside...it started up like a champ today and always runs fine as long as i can get it started!)

this part is only $40 at the parts shop so i figured it would be worth a try.

I'm about to buy a 1997 range rover 4.0 and from what my mechanic says... it runs smooth. But I wanted to know from someone who has knowledge of range rovers to tell me how long do they typically last (mileage wise) if maintained well?

Thanks

I have checked all the motor and transmission mounts and universal joints and can find no problems there. What else might cause this? Thank you.

Last week someone broke my quarter-window to my toyota pre-runner. They stole what was in the back of the truck, which was pretty much nothing. I don't use my truck so it sits parked on the street- So I have no insurance on it. Just last night someone tryed jamming something into the key ignition. They broke the cover off- but couldn't steal it. I can put the key in the hole and turn it to a certain point- but thiers a small latch that is blocking it from turning over. I can push the latch up but when I turn the key the latch seems impossible to move- I need to take it to my local dealer to get it fixed- But I need to get it started myself. Can anyone help me pls?

I'm considering buying a new car just because the car I own (1993 Nissan Sentra E) has no air conditioning. I'm going to be commuting a lot farther and it's going to be hot - I just can't take it anymore! I'm not sure it would even be possible to install an air conditioner in my car, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

Okay this is a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, always well maintained. It starts up fine, then cuts out soundlessly--no warning. You can, however, drive it (in extreme anxiety) by holding down the gas at red lights and such and braking at the same time. If it were an old car I'd suspect the carburator or idle was set too low-- but my own car is practically an antique so I haven't a clue about newer vehicles. We have a very well respected mechanic who adjusted something, We drive around fine a couple days then it cuts out again. Mechanic then replaced a part for $65 and didn't charge any labor. Now he's on vacation for a week and my mate is stuck, Any help would be HUGELY appreciated.

I have changed the water pump, thermostat, and intake manifold gasket. compression test checks out fine. radiator is good. it will set and idol and never overheat. as soon as i start down the road the temperature gauge will start rising and will not stop. heater works until overheating starts. fans are working fine. i actually eliminated the thermistat.runs a little cooler. but still overheats when you run it hard or hold it steady on any speed. I would greatly appriciate any ideas. have been working on cars for over 10 years and never had this kind of problem.

Can a universe ever actualy be full of nothing or something or does it need a mix of both to exist? Say you take a box and make a true vacuum in it can that ever even be done? Is it possible to make a spark of life inside that box and have it grow forever?

When I step off the gas the noise goes away. Checked both front and back rears and they are full. Jacked it up and ran it and the rears are silent. Transfer case is full. What could this noise be? Want to be informed before I take it to the trans shop. Thanks for all answers.

It passed 3 of 4 tests, but limit is 220 ppm and mine showed around 350 at idle. Every mechanic I've been to seems like a ripoff. There is no visible smoke. Ideas? I'd at least like to know if the mechanic is trying to be honest.

I have a 93 GMC Safari XT van, and one of the idler arms are worn out. I know i need a 2 jaw puller to do the job myself, but i never replaced steering parts besides ball joints in 2 Buick Centurys before. Is this a hard job? The manual doesnt say anything about alignments after the job, but is it nessesary? I looked underneath the van, and it doesnt look hard to replace the worn arm.
