MY QUESTION IS MY TRUCK NEEDS REPAIR I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP AND IT'S BEEN THERE FOR A WEEK AND A HALF ON A LIFT. THE WARRANTY COMPANY PROTECTION PLUS INC C.A.R.S. IS GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND THEY ARE RUDE AND HARD TO DEAL WITH AND THESE ARE COVERED COMPONETS UNDER THE WARRANTY BUT , THEY ARE CALLING ME AND THE SHOP LIARS SAYING MY TRUCK COULDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM THEY ALSO SAID THAT WE ARE LYING THAT WE PUT A TOWING PACKAGE AND A LIFT KIT ON THE TRUCK AFTER WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK BUT, THE TRUCK CAME WITH BOTH OF THESES THINGS WHEN WE GOT IT OFF THE LOT. ITS A USED CAR . SO NOW THEY SAY THEY WILL AUTHORIZE THE REPAIR WORK BUT, WE HAVE TO FAX THEM A LETTER STATING WE HAVE PURCHASED THE TRUCK THE WITH THE TOW PACKGE AND LIFT AND WE NEVER MODIFIED IT . I WANT TO BUT , THEN I'M SCARED THAT THIS COULD SOME HOW VOID MY WARRANTY OR THEY ARE TRYING TO GET US TO SAY THIS SO THEY CAN GET OUT OF PAYING WHAT SHOULD IT DO

I would like to know if my contract is legal. The auto had 86 miles on it when purchased by me. I have since had many problems with the car (I now have 28,000 miles, I am pass the lemon law time line and warranty but have had the steering column replaced 3 times by the dealer at their cost when it was under warranty and as a good will gesture (ha)). What are my options. 2001 Cadillac STS.

I have a 94 Ford Explorer XLT, whenever you press the gas, it has a roaring noise, but whenever you let off gas or hit brake it stops. It is a 4X4 w/ 164k. What could this be??!!

My son has a 1988 Grand Prix. The other day the power steering went out on him while driving on the interstate. After a got to his destination he let it sit overnight. The following morning the power steering was fine for a while but then went out again. He said the fluid level is fine but has a frothy appearance.

I will try to start it, the ignition turns over with no sound ,there is still power from the battery. A friend of mine "sparked the cellinoid" and something clicked and the car started right up. A few days later the car won't start again. what can it be?

My brother's car, 94/5 UK spec Escort LX - 1.6L Zetec, 5sp box, totally original apparently.

Issues started immediately - he drove 25 miles home from place of purchase & then had trouble shifting out of 5th & 4th gears. I initially warned him / mum (who... "helped" with the purchase) there could be a problem e.g. oil level needing immediate attention, but still he's gone on a long trip (~300 miles in total at 50+ mph) without touching it. Now it won't go into 3rd gear....

Tried to open allen bolt to check / top up level, but haven't the tools (about to go out and buy an 8mm allen bit for my socket wrench). Investigated linkage instead - seemed a little out of line (fixed it) but otherwise fine. All other gears a little stiff but perfectly functional.

If one driving wheel is jacked up off the ground, the synchro for 3rd works - i.e. you push it against the position and the wheel spins, suggesting the gear is still fine, but can't be selected.

What the blue blazes is going on? :-) MP

I am considering to fit my car with LPG gas fuel tank. But I am wondering if it is possible to retain the original petrol fuel tank with the new LPG gas fuel tank fit in? The reason I would like to keep the stock petrol tank is becoz I am not sure if the price for gas will be skyrocket in near future due to demand and the petrol cost rising will be slowed down as opposed to gas.

i just drove my 4 cylinder auto car for around 30 mins all was fine temp was only half way, then all of a sudden it jerked 4 or 5 times then stopped, i started it again and straight away did it again. i waited excatly 1 hour and now it is running perfectly .
please if anyone knows wats going on so it wont happen again because i cant put my car in netural, i cant move it at all unless its going.

I'm thinking about buying a new car, and it has a lot of miles on it. I was wondering if i should take it somewhere to have a compression test done, and if i do would this give me an idea on the "well being" of the engine. If not what should i do to ensure that engine isnt going to need rebuilt/replaced in a month.

I think Slick 50 works great. I put it in an older El Camino and i noticed a drastic increase in fule economy. My oil pressure also came up to the normal range again. I also found the same results after adding it to my Jeep CJ7.

The a/c is out in my 98 Ford Contour SVT. Last year had to add 3 cans of freon but it lasted thru the summer. This year 3 cans of freon (the kind with sealant) lasted less than 48 hrs. When i turn it on, it will blow, but only hot air. I've been told: 1) it's just a hose & won't cost much, 2) it's the compressor & will cost $800 - $1000, 3) it's the condenser & will cost $300. And that's why women are afraid to get their cars worked on. Who should I believe? Anybody out there have a suggestion on where I might go or who I might trust?
