depending on what kind of car you have , it sounds like an electrical problem which could be a ignition module or pick up coil in the distributor, when an electrical component gets hot, it will build up a resistance, which will cause low voltage and after a cooling off period it may operate fine untill it gets hot again

If you provide more details on the type of vehicle, this would be alot easier to answer.....Year, make , model, eng. size, auto or manual ..........If I had to guess, I'd say you have a GM, front wheel drive with a 3 speed auto. If thats the case, then your problem is with the solenoid for the Torque Converter Clutch. It's become mechanically defective and is keeping the converter clutch applied at all times. The symptom is similar to coming to a stop with a manual transmission & not pushung the clutch pedal........Again, this is based on the fact that my guess is right ???

Sounds like the differential locked up. FWD? If so, probably needs a tranny. RWD? If this is the case, it may need a rear end. Good luck.
