i have owned the truck for over 18 years and at the moment i'm laid off from my job. i have kept the truck in tip top shape and wanted to keep it a while longer. There is body and frame rot and the frame is close to not passing the safety inspection. i also have an intermittent no start which has 3 remanufactured starters installed in the last 21/2 years and i still have the same intermittent no start with a click. I just don't want to start throwing good money after bad. There will reach a point when i will have to make a decision on when to let this truck go. I know having this truck so long has made me attached to it and really have loved it, which is why i put the money into it and taken such great care of it. I know the clutch will cost $800 dollars if not more. I know if i keep it any longer i will have to put money in fixing the rot and possibly i may need to put money into the frame . I'm laided off from work now and didn't want to buy something newer yet, but when would i know?

I have been getting an intermittent no start. The engine doesn't turn over and all i get is a click or a delay of 1 to 2 seconds before it will turn over when key in start. The last time i brought it in i wrote up a list for them to check which includes: 1) Check for broken, loose or disconnected wires in the starting circuit. Inspect all wires and connectors at the battery, starter solenoid and igition switch (on the steering column) 2) Bad starter solenoid 3) Bad starter motor 4) Bad ignition switch. They replaced the remanufactured starter with another and i still get the intermittent no start. I went on the internet and searched for people who had a similar problem as i do with the same model and found the a bad interlock relay could cause the same no start,so i went to a junk yard and found a newer interlock relay and replaced it only to find it wasn't a bad relay. What should i do different this time when i bring it in to them? They are ASE and have trusted them for 15 yrs bring it

Has anyone heard of the negative effects of G.M.'s "orange" coolant? Some techs I spoke with said change it back to the green.

First out went my blinkers. No lights on dash either. Then for a few days they worked again. Then the other day I used my hazards and and they all went out again. Then only one brake light would work and one light on the hazards. Now my brake lights won't at all or the hazards, or the blinkers. Even the one above the pick-up bed. For the brakes is out. I've checked all of the fuses, and replaced all the bulbs. Could this be a relay or some sort of switch and where do I look for it? steering column, under the dash, under the hood, etc? Or do you think its sum sort of short.... but for all of them?

the windows are powered and I was just putting the window up when I heard a loud popping noise and boom... the passenger front window no longer works. I tried pressing the up/down button a few times and it sounds like the motor is still working but there was some crunching noises as well.

I've called the Jeep dealer and they're telling me that it's likely that a cable snapped, which is a part of the regulator assembly and that if the cable is gone, the entire assembly must be replaced. They've quoted me $122 for labor and $227 for the part. I don't really have extra money laying around to get this done but since it's a safety issue, I need the window fixed asap. The tape that's holding the window up may not last for much longer.

I've been trying to research online how to replace the regulator on my own...or to atleast remove the interior door panel to see for myself what's the problem is so that if I have to take my Jeep to a dealer, they don't rip me off by telling me a bunch of

My 1993 Jeep Cherokee (not the Grand) with 250,000 miles on it just started leaking coolant. It is a Cherokee Country, 4WD, four door with ABS and automatic transmission. The leak starts about 15 minutes from a cold idle and appears to coming from a small metal tube coming from behind the water pump area. This metal tube runs into a small rubber tube and seems to extend upward somewhere. Can someone tell me what this leak is all about and what do you call that small leaking metal tube and what does it do? Is it easy to fix and would you be able to estimate the cost? It looks like I could even do it myself.

My 350z is due for a coolant flush, transmission fluid flush, and oil change, should I install the new manifold before or after this 60,000 mile service? And, if anyone knows, if I add headers to my car with this new manifold which frees up air flow for more horse power, will the headers boost the horsepower up more or will it neutrul out the new manifold purpose? Thanks.

my '97 Grand Am won't turn! i replaced the starter and bought a brand new battery. And still won't start/turn. This car was given to me so I don't know the story behind it. But the engine was "extremely" over filled with oil. I drained about 20 quarts of motor oil. What can I possible do next? Is really been a nightmare for me,and I would like to see it running one day. Can anybody give me some advice?? Thank You,thank You,thank You.

I'm trying to find a diagram of the jack so I can identify the name of the part I need as well as a place to order the part.
The jack is about 20 years older or so and I know it would be easier to just go and buy a new one but this has sort of turned into a 'mission' sort-a-speak between my buddy and I. Any help would be appreciated.
