It would not be practical to polish that type of damage on a windshield. Usually any scratch that will catch your fingernail if you drag it over it, is too deep to buff out. Glass buffing is done with a damp felt wheel and a very fine buffing compound like jewelers rouge. During the buffing process, you are actually removing glass surface much like sanding a piece of wood except that it takes much longer to have any noticeable improvement. For an entire windshield, assuming all the blemishes were removable, you would have to buff on it for weeks! Also, after that much buffing, the vision through your windshield would be so distorted that it would give you a headache. Unfortunately, the best option is to replace the windshield.

jewlers rouge can polish a windshield but it depends on how deep the pits are. check with a local glass dealer that specializes in cracks

they can be polished out but it takes forever,best to replace it.
