I have a 93' Benz 190E and come to find the head gasket was broken. Its now in the shop being fixed so I was wondering when I do get it back what is the likelihood that it will break again. By the way I'm having it repaired by a Benz specialist. The head is made aluminium obviously a different metal than the engine itself.

Its a ford 5.0 (302) head. I have seen some heads that came off of an engine with the same thing. The seals go up and down with the valve. I just dont understand how it would seal.

Im putting my cylinder heads together. Ive noticed that the umbrella seals that I bought dont clamp or what ever to the head so it doesn't move. The stock ones dont move. The new ones go up and down with the valves is that ok?

I had my brakes done last March, which included getting all 4 of my roaters replaced and new brake pads. The whole thing ended up costing around $800 dollars because of the high cost of the roaters for my volvo S40. When I first got my car back the brakes were squeaking really loud which I found odd considering they were new. I took it back to the mechanic and he test drove it with me and told me that new brakes sometimes do that and to be hard on the brakes to break them in. Well it's now almost 6 months later and the brakes are still squeaking, and most recently the brakes are grinding when I press down on them. I think this means my brakes are out but is this possible already when I got them done less than a year ago? Is this the mechanics fault, did they rip me off? Please advise me on this as I know nothing about cars.

I've got a brand new car (5 months) and there is tar all over it - from where? who knows. It's along the hood, wheel well, trunk, and other edges. I really don't want to do anything to compromise the finish. What should I use to remove it? Is it simple enough that I can do it, and not live in fear of rubbing off the finish?

97 Accura, v-6. Battery just check out okay on a meter, and connections are tight-no corrosion. Ignition switch and starter replaced about 6 months ago. Battery is 13 months old. Outside temp-80 at night and 92 in day.
In mornings the starter will drag slowly, but usually will eventually crank. When Car is hot-starter cranks over fast-like normal. What could it be? Could it be a looose cable on the starter, or could the starter be bad already? A new starter would be about $500-thats why I am trying to fix this myself. This is not a gas problem or firing problem. It has only to do with turning the engine over to start the car. Thanks for ideas.

I have a 99 Dodge Stratus, just had a tune up and it was running fine. Yesterday the "check engine" light came on and it is running very sluggish now. The speedometer is working and I have plenty of gas. Any ideas?

The doors are unlocked but the button to open the trunk won't work unless the car is on. What else can I do, besides a locksmith? The car has an alarm but it is not set.
