I have a 93' Benz 190E and come to find the head gasket was broken. Its now in the shop being fixed so I was wondering when I do get it back what is the likelihood that it will break again. By the way I'm having it repaired by a Benz specialist. The head is made aluminium obviously a different metal than the engine itself.

well with this kind of set up, cast iron and aluminum its gonna happen eventaully but if your mechanic does a good job you should be able to go a while without worrying about it, especially if you maintian the cooling system and such. also if its getting fixed now have them look at the radiator and make sure its in good shape

Ask all the questions that you can to your specialist. They should now if the problem is frequent or just a fluke thing.
Good Luck.
