Take the car to a reputable mechanic that will check the car out with a fine tooth comb, he will do a variety of test to see if the car is worthy of its selling price. You may have to pay him a fee for his service, but it is much better than getting stuck with a peice of junk.

Take the car to a certified mechanic and have a compression test on done on the motor. A compression test should be able to tell you if there are problems with the rings or valves.

If you hear knocking, tapping or slapping noise, don't trust the engine, a good engine doesn't make that noise.

First you know that it takes a mechanic to catch a mechanic.Get another mechanic or a good friend who you trust to look at the motor. Ask him "Do you provide a written 30-90 Day used automobile WARRANTY (once again madam your grammar is terrible: how am I supposed. to k now if a car' sealer"is sAlling me a good motor after "I"asked him if he is saying is good.?

DO NOT SPEAK FRENCH) BUT RATHER THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A
