OEM means Original Equipment Manufacture. After Market is made by an outside firm.
In many cases there is no difference, but you have to be careful. The after market parts may not fit as well, or use thinner metal.
Most of the time it means you are buying from a factory that pays their employees less than OE manufactures.

OEM is directly from the factory. Meaning replacement parts. Aftermarket, is of course some other company that makes similar parts but may be of different quality and such. Also, aftermarket, may be cheaper. Then some might say you get what you pay for.

There are different qualities of aftermarket crash parts. CAPA CERTIFIED parts bear the seal of the Certified Automotive Parts Association (http://www.capacertified.org/) guaranteeing fit and quality equal to original equipment (OEM). These parts may be required if your insurance company is paying for the repair.
