always go by the manufacturer recommendation. Most newer cars with platinum plugs say 100k miles. Depends on what year car you have and the maker. All recommend different but I would say 100k miles would be a general answer

Hello! Depending on how much You drive, You should change your spark plugs at least every six months. But if you drive a lot You can change it every 3 to 4 months. Some people will tell you that many spark plugs have "life time warranty" but that is not an excuse to not change them. The electrode wears out with use. It's a fact! And cleaning and putting the same plugs will only buy you a few weeks of time but You don't fix the problem, just prolonged the solution. as a rule of thumb I also change my spark plug wires when i replace my spark plugs. I hope I was of help. Thank you!

Spark plugs are cheap. The labor to install them varies. I would replace at 50,000 with Platinum or Irridium plugs ( more expensive, but last a lot longer). I would not wait that long for the second set since as the engine gets older, it will allow more contamination to get past the rings and foul the plugs. New plugs will increase gas mileage and improve performance making the cost pretty reasonable.

Every 30,000 miles or so is the generally accepted rule, but that all depends on how much you drive and how your car is running. You can pick up one of those Hayne's Manuals for your car, and in the back, it has a chart with pics where you can compare what your spark plug looks like with the pics, and it will tell you how your car is running and whether or not to replace them. The book is only $15 and something everyone should have in their car anyways, so it's win-win...you can grab them at any auto-parts store.

Look in the book , but a tune up never hurts. Now that gas is 3.00 a gal. Unless you have a diesel........and the spark plug question would become a duh?...no spark plugs

When the manufacturer recommends it. Many different makes and models out there the interval for replacement varies from 30,000 to 100,000 miles. Check you maintenance schedule in the handbook that came with the car, or if it is lost get another from the dealer.

Best bet would be to check them for oxidation or any damage. They should be replaced at any sign of trouble, or every 30k... however its not going to hurt you if they are still in good condition to go a little longer.

if all else fails every two years or about 36 to 50 thousand miles, replace your fuel and air filter every year unless you drive over 36k a year
