There is a possibility that the fan (whether it be the stock fan or the aftermarket) is thermally controlled. And will only kick on once the car has acheived a certain tempature. Run it for a while and see if that helps.

You can also try to connect the fan directly to the battery (using jumpers) to see if the fan actually works.

first see if there is power getting to the fan best way to tell is turn on the air cond. if it works this always forces the cooling fan(s) on when the A/C IS CHARGED AND WORKING if not then located the cooling fan sensor. usually near the thermostat filler area near where the upper radiator hose meats the engine. if a one wire sensor then pull the plug and jump the wire to ground(metal on the car) if a two wire the jump the connection. un plug the put jumper wire between the th terminals of the pug. if multi wire 3 or more then the fan is controlled by an ecm but in you're case I'm sure its only a one or two wire jna services inc.

Its control is inbuilt with the sensors. To know if the fan is actually functioning properly You can start & run the Engine in Idle condition till the cooling watre's temp increases. You can even switch on the light inside the cabin space. the moment the fan starts You will see that the light is getting dim for some seconds.

if its the radiator cooling fan, it only turns on at a certain temperature. it is switched on by a thermal switch that measures the temperature and upon reaching the preset temperature turns on the fan, it is negatively triggered by a relay located in the fuse box.

did you have to wire it for that. if not then check the current to the fan see if you have any. also fan will not come on unless the car runs hot. let it sit there in the yard running and see if it comes on
