ihad a nova sr 5 yrs ago and had the same prob
you have to stick some paper in one side and fiddle it is a pain

1. Check your fuses
2. Check the switch with a multimeter
If your old switch was working it almost has to be one of these two possiblities.
Also, if you have a Nova SR, turn the hazard light switch upside down and put it in that way, the ignition lights will come on - this is possibly the reason it was stolen in the first place?? but it didn't work so they nicked your switch out of spite.

I think the question is, why would anyone steal a hazard light button? Come to think of it why would anyone steal anything from a Nova.
If you want my advice, get a new car!

there's some harsh people out there !
check the switch to make sure its in right and that its not wired in wrong.if you have got the new switch from a scrap yard it may be faulty. or if its new it might be from a different model. another thing to consider is the relay. this is a black block that will be next to your fuses.

Alright you should check your fuses.Might have popped one while installing new hazard switch.Also check your hazard bulbs,common fault when bulb out.Check earth connections.
