the serpentine belt is froze because of the a/c pulley is locked up.. car will not run..is there anyway the remove just this section of the pulley..1988 ford taurus gl 3.8L v6

Look on the radiator support or call local auto parts store and see if their is an option for this vehicle without A/C if their is you can simply change the belt for the time being. Their may also be a diagram on the radiator support showing an option to reroute the belt without A/C

while it fairly is squealing spray slightly water on the alternator pulley. If it stops the squeal it is your belt being previous or loose. If it would not end it fairly is the alternator bearing.

go to your local car parts store..Ask them for the belt option for you vehicle w/o A/C ..replace belt and over-ride ac pulley..it works ..i have done it..
