Maintenance & Repairs - August 2006

I put some oil in it and noticed oil on the ground after I drove it. not a lot but noticiable. what damage could have been done and what should i look for? I don't know anything about cars and always feel taken when I take it somewhere for repairs - its a 2001 toyota camry with 87000 miles always ran good before.

Engine turns over just doesnt start,but eventually does start up,(same day/next day) This has occurred twice in the in the 45 months since the car was purchased new,once 14 months ago and again yesterday.

the problem i'm having is that i can not shift the car into gear. Originally you should be able to press the brakes and the gear lock deactivates, then I would be able to shift the gear. is there any kind of fuse or solenoid i can disconnect. Or maybe, you might know how to repair this.

the parts are torque converter cluth circuit (P0740) shift/timing solenoid (P0785)
manfaction contrl. tarnsmission (P1860)
the # are from the OBD 2 if any one can help i would like that very much and thank you at advance

1992 ford taurus front wheel drive,3.8 232 v-6 starts and runs fine put in gear it sometimes shimmers then goes 1,2,not third,I know its shifting gears by the sound of the rpms, its a automatic, it goes about 100 feet theen it feels like its in neutral!! turn the car off ,put in drive it goes about 100 feet no go... I think its a sensor are a selonoid I know a lot but first front wheel drive my question also where is it located or should I replace the trans..if so is it a transaxle or a halfshaft?? thank you!!

I have an electric car and my son tried to help me get it going it has 6 batteries and the gear is a handle left goes forward right goes back in the middle is neutral, he sprayed wd 40 on that gear handle it was sticking now when i put it in gear it sparks real bad will i ruin something if i go ahead and put it in gear will it stop sparking or will it ruin something please help

I was backing out of a driveway and the garbage can caught under the passenger wheel well. I was able to pop out a lil ding with a hammer. What do I do now? I would rather try and fix it myself then having to spend a lot of money to have someone else do it.

I just bought a 2001 Ford Puma privately and found A/C does not work.

The A/C blows out normal cool air as if it had no A/C. My reckoning is that it needs to be recharged.

Anyone know a place in Edinburgh that will recharge/re-gas it for me at a reasonable cost? I'm trying to avoid my local Ford Dealership as I have grown rather attached to my arm and leg.

Any serious answers would be appreciated.

Has anyone ever heard of/ used them for their car? Igot a letter in the mail from this company (in Alabama) to put a 1 year bumper to bumper warranty on my 2000 Olds Alero. Ihave had LOTS of problems with this car, and I think the offer might be good for me. You pay $200 for a year with a $100 deductible. I tried to get a hold of my mechanic to see what he thought, but he is on vacation. Can anyone give me any info on this company? Are they legit? Thanks!!!
