1st evacuate the a/c system, drain the coolant from the heater core, remove dash, remove plenum then you can replace the door. Reassemble, refill coolant & recharge a/c system.
This is a failry big job that only a qualified technician should do.
It usually takes about 4 hours using the proper equipment. If you don't have this equipment you will just end up spending more money having to bring it to us ( ford service shops ).
It is always cheaper to take your veh to a qualified repair shop than trying to fix it yourself or taking it to a " shade tree mechanic ".

Yes. pull the dash. evac ac system. I think there is an updated heater case. might be worth checking into so this problem dosen't come back.
