I just bought a 2001 Ford Puma privately and found A/C does not work.

The A/C blows out normal cool air as if it had no A/C. My reckoning is that it needs to be recharged.

Anyone know a place in Edinburgh that will recharge/re-gas it for me at a reasonable cost? I'm trying to avoid my local Ford Dealership as I have grown rather attached to my arm and leg.

Any serious answers would be appreciated.

Lucas at Abbeyhill (Abbey Lane) have a 'FREE' a/c check just now, they will evacuate the system and compare the weight of the removed gas with what should be in the system. They will then recharge for £50.00. There could be other problems as well. Last year I replaced a leaky condeser, evaporator and dryer, and had a regas (Volvo 850) and it worked for about a couple of days. I think there are very few good a/c techs in the uk. If there is one, reply here!! Steer clear of the DIY kits-See link below.
