Maintenance & Repairs - July 2006

My SJ413 runs fine most of the time but when I'm a bit stuck and I'm giving it some revs while trying to get out of a situation, the temp rises and eventually overheats. When it cools down again and has some more water put in, its fine. I'm putting this down to crap cooling, would an electric fan help?

car will only shift if you start in L1 and manually shift the gears yes it is an automatic

I have a 93 Jeep GC (4x4-AWD-318-Dana 30 front) with a bad Death Wobble when I hit a uneven spot in the road. Normally happens when I'm going about 45mph or above. I just recently got a 4.5" susp. lift (professional done) and new tires(31x10.5) as well as a new stablelizer shock. I was told the alinement after the lift would fix the problem. But it has not.
I would prefer only answers from persons that have had this problem or mech's.
If you are a person that feels the need to answer with crap just for points. Know that I will report you.

i think i know where the leak is. its a ford van front medic unit and i thikn the "o" rings around the compressor are leakings, fords are famous for that, but i want to make sure before i go and take the time and money to repair it

When I step on the gas, the a/c cuts off and then resumes when I take my foot off the gas. Had it checked out - no a/c leaks. Does anyone have any ideas?

Specifically would like to know where one is in a Semi truck, but if not known please explain where one is on a typical vehicle, and if it is possible to block the sensor for a short time so no mileage registers on the digital odometer.

I have a 1990 Cadillac than runs very well, other than getting some gas fumes when I have the air on. It stalled on me the other day and I think I flooded the engine-that's about when I noticed this problem. Is this something I need to fix mechanically or will the gasoline eventually "burn off" and go away?

Ok so I pushed the rest/reset button and held it for like 3 seconds and the ac made a weird noise and now the highest setting the ac will go to is LOW. The air is still cold but the pressure of the air coming through is very faint, does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem or what the problem even is? Oh this rest or reset button is located on the dash somewhere close to the ac buttons and radio. Please help!! Thank you

i have a 1992 chevy lumina van and i just changed the filter and gasket and filled her up. we still have a leak but it doesnt seems to be coming from the gasket area, could it becoming from some where else? also its not wanting to shift, it still does but the rpms get real high before it does and its just acting like it doesnt want to. i was thinking it was the modulater but i cant find it, does anyone know where to look on this vehicle? please help, this is my only car and i have 3 kids and a job

Whenever i brake and come a complete stop, i can hear a knocking sound which sounds like some rod under my car swinging and hitting the car but once it looses its momentum it stops, it sound like tock tock tock... then stops. it sounds like its coming from the rear left wheel but i went down to have a look and see nothing that is loose...

Ok, so my aunt and uncle have a used Blazer 2001 LX and we were backing out of there driveway (which is steep i might add) at the lake to go hunt arrowheads but all the sudden it made this wierd noise and my uncle seems to think its the transmission but we arent completely sure and thinking that maybe it jumped a gear because now we cant go in reverse! i have a 92 chevy lumina 3.1 v6 overdrive trans and the problem i am having is sometimes when i park and then go to leave again i can put it in drive or reverse and i can fell and hear it go into gear but it wont move its like i am standing on the brakes wich is what i thought was going on at first but it wasnt ok even if i put it in nuetral it wont move but if i put it in nuetral and rev the engine up it will creep forward a little bit and then most of the time after that a couple of times it will then move just fine it does not slip or shift funny driving down the road this has got me and a couple of buddys stump so ant help would be great or if you have any further questions i did not already answer fell free to ask my email is jhace75@yahoo.com thanks
