they make special sealants that you can add to the water that would help but it's only temperary and can cause problems later on, ask at a local pep boys or auto zone, other than that get a new radiator. good luck.

As aTEMPORARY fix, until you can get it repaired, you can dump approx. 3 tablespoons of ground black pepper...the kind you use to season food, into your radiator & run the vehicle for 15-20 min. The pepper will not disolve & will circulate and collect in the hole where the leak is. This is a cheap TEMPORARY fix that in most cases will work, but there is always the chance it won't. If it doesn't work the pepper will not harm the cooling system. Remember to refill the radiator to the proper level if the leak is stopped. under no circumstances should you add Barsleak or any other type of radiator sealant...this stuff works but it will do more hard than good to the entire cooling system... & if by some chance your radiator can be repaired it will require a good flush to get the Barsleak out....more cash out of pocket.

Depending on the age of the radiator and its application it may be repairable or you can try some radiator stop-leak. Be warned, using stop leak may also plug heater core so that you will have no heat in winter and replacing this is the only option.
I'd say get a re-furbished radiator if money is tight, or get a new OEM(Original Equipment Manufactured) if you have some leeway.

short-term fix only!!!! Crack an egg, and carefully dribble the white part only into the radiator. Let the engine run for about 10 minutes before you drive. It should get you far enough to a repair shop where you should get a NEW or RECONDITIONED radiator.
Also, there is something on the market that you can get... Think its called RadiatorRepair. It comes in a small rectangular can, like a pepper can, and sprinkles into the radiator, just like pepper. I've used this several years ago, but still needed to get a new radiator. It is also only a short-term fix.

If it is leaking you need to repair it or replace it. Do not use any kind of radiator sealants that you pour in the radiator or you will guck up the whole cooling system. You do use antifreeze don't you. It not only protects from freezing and over heating but also gives you protection from electrolysis. Without antifreeze you would eventually have the aluminum eaten away by electrolysis.

Pour a little bit of pepper into the radiator for a temporary plugger. Good luck. It really really works.
