It does this noise even if it is hot weather. Dealer Service Dept said is normal, and due to carbon accumulation in pistons. Chevrolet WILL NOT repair it, says it doesn't affect the performance or life of the motor.... I find it to be a very annoying noise. and embarrasing.
They reccommended go to thicker motor oils...
My truck has 34892 miles and I am the first owner.
Please help, What can I do to minimize and fix this?

Is it possible to have any car proffessionly converted to a soft top, do you remember the old original capri it had a boot rather than a hatchback i have the chance to get hold of one but it needs restoring, not something i can do myself being a girl and all that lol i fancy buying it and getting it restored but think it would look really sexy as a soft top.

I have tried everything but my car keeps overheating! I have had the thermostat changed, replaced the radiator, and got a new water pump all to no avail. Now I am being told that it is probably the heater core and that is going to cost about $600. Does that sound about right or should I just take a sledgehammer to my car and be done with it?

I've been trying to find tips & info about how to care for your leather seats & interior in your car, however I haven't found really anything.

I know how to clean them, but as far as conditioning them & doing other things to help make them last, I don't even know where to start.

What leather cleaners & conditioners do you recommend? Where can I buy them? What tips & techniques do you suggest that I use to help improve & or maintain the quality & condition of my leather interior?

Thanks!

I have a leak in my car's engine, it smells like gas, but it was a fine white mist that was spraying from some tube next to the engine. The antifreeze is low, was that it, or is it really gas?

I have a crate 350 chevy motor that is having issues. It backfires through the carb and runs ok at best. This was in a truck that my buddy owned and he said "One day I noticed the distributor was bouncing on the motor and I pushed it down. This somehow caused the engine to stall. It has run like crap ever since." I've noticed that it starts just fine and will idle on its own. It only backfires through the carb when reved up. My first mission to check this is to entirely retime the engine. Sadly, I am not familiar on how to do this. Can someone lend me some instructions, or perhaps a better diagnosis?

I have a customer that has a 2002 Chevy K2500 with the Duramax Diesel 6.6. He had a 1/4 tank and filled the rest with regular gas. He then drove about 10 miles and it died. I had it towed to my place and removed the tank to get all the gas out. I will finish the job tomorrow. I still have to reinstall the tank and replace the fuel filter. Before I did this I losened the bleeder valve and tried to start the truck and not fuel came out. The main question I have is that when I do all this should the truck start and run ok or do I need to do something else also.

Thank You

ive never really delt with a stick shift before, and i was just wondering, ive been putting it in 5th gear while going about 40 mph, the car dosent accelerate very good in these conditions, understandibly. i wanted to know, since the rpms don't go up proportionatly with the gas pedal, am i still using more gas? is it more economical to drive in say 4th or 3rd? is it bad for the engine to go in 5th while at that speed? it idles about 800 rpms, it stays at 1400 in 5th. thanks in advance.
