I have a leak in my car's engine, it smells like gas, but it was a fine white mist that was spraying from some tube next to the engine. The antifreeze is low, was that it, or is it really gas?

Antifreeze smells like pancake syrup. It sounds like a gas leak !! Fix it our one of my "Brothers" ( firemen ) will have to put the fire out.

ok if it is gas when u touch it it will dry on ur hands kinda fast and antifreeze woudl prolly burn ya if it is hot so if it scalds ya than it is proly antifreeze cause gas is cool all the time.. maybe a little warm by the engine ... but hey if it smells like gas then it is a gas line better fix it or kiss ur car goodbye it will catch fire ....

antifreeze smells sweet. thats the glycol thats evaporating when it hits the hot engine. does it spray out when you have the engine cold? if it smells like fuel...

You have a leak on your fuel rail! get it repaired or up in smoke will be your cars next smell.

if it is a white mist it is gas you might have a split in your gas line or in the injector rail
