They say the fuel type for this engine is Gas, Propane or Natural Gas.

How could I use Propane and would I get better MPG and power..

The propane and natural gas versions are most likely found in forklifts and possibly some delivery trucks. Normal street trucks and vans will not come with any of the required equipment. You're basically looking at a redesigned fuel system.

Most of these alternative fuel vehicles actually cost a bit more to run than gasoline. However, you can often run them indoors or in other areas where gasoline would be too poluting or too hazardous.

Yes you could most likely convert your GM 4.3 litre six cylinder engine to run on propane which to my understanding is a very clean burning fuel. Your miles per gallon would suffer though. Personally I dont think it would be worth the hassle. I have a 1989 Chevy Astro van with the 4.3 litre vortec engine that I have been driving Lo these many years and now have 273,000 miles on it. Still runs like new.
