Interested in cutting down the cost of spraying a car by doing the prep work myself, can anybody help me, do you have bodywork experience? I find it hard to find information on the net regarding prep work for car bodys so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

If I take the battery cable off and clear the computer, I put the cable back on and start the car.....The light is off. I drove it for two hours and no light but as soon as I turn the car off then back on the check engine light comes on. It stays on at that point. Anyone know what it may be? I really dont want to pay someone to hook it to a computer.

I've been told I have to get an all new system? I only paid $200.00 for the car and do not have any money for something that expensive? Please say it isn't so.

I was one of the lucky few to be out in the beginning of the worst storm in Toledo, OH. When I saw that everything was getting worse I decided to go to a friend that lives on higher ground and was closer to me. Unfortunately to get there I had to go through waist deep water with my jeep cherokee. And now this morning the check engine light is on and will not go off. Please tell me if the light will go off or if I should get it to the dealer ship. I don't want to pay money if it will go away later on or drive it if it is in danger. Please help!!! Thank God there is 4 Wheel Drives and tall cars for these situations...

First Thank you all for your time in answering my question about my Ford Explorer. I have had the car for more than a year and a half first of all and got it for a steal of price, so no one got over on me. Second I know quite a bit about cars and it is not my heater core, nor am I loosing any water out of the system. I used extended life Prestone (anti-freeze/ coolant)(for all makes and models) and did the right mix of 50% anti-freeze and 50% water. It is missing the tail pipe from the muffler back, since I owned the car. It did pass smog with no problem. Since I am in a smog test required state it was madintory. Hope that gives you all a little more info. Also I'm on such a tight budget that $45 dollars just to get it checked will not be an option. So I'm trying to not take it to a shop to get charged $80.00 dollars an hour. Also the a/c compressor is not working, so no a/c.

I used to have a Nissan truck and it wall turning into a regular bucket piece of s..t and someone told me it was the catalytic convertor(got rid of the truck and never fixed it to find out) now I have a ford explorer and just changed the radiator water with antifreeze, plus my power steering pump is going out so I think it is putting a drag on my fan belt a little. So we have had temps outside between 75-102 and I notice my temp gage going a little over the C line then drops a little and goes back up. I have already replaced my water pump, thermostat and radiator. I'm thinking the ammonia smell might be coming from the cooling system is this at all possible. Please only real answers of people who know what they are talking about. I really appreciate the help.

I have a 1995 Honda Accord EX with a V6 engine, automatic transmission, and only 113k miles on it. Recently when I drive it, after it gets warmed up, the RPM's start to go wild, shooting up and down randomly. Also, at speeds above 45mph or so the shifting becomes jumpy: it will shift up to like 5th gear but then shift down sometimes, making it kind of a jumpy ride (as if you're riding with a teenager who just learned how to drive a stick shift). One place said it could be the distributor, another place the transmission, and another place the tachometer. It had a used transmission installed to replace a faulty one 3 years ago, at 85k miles. The check engine light does not come on, and there are no noises when it drives a little rough. I also recently had a transmission flush done on it.
