The Toyota Co. has charged me a total of 800 dollars (w/labor and parts) to fix the problem. Is that a decent asking price or am i being bent over.?

So... Was that the quote or what you paid for repairs? Ok, first off, find someone who can do brakes. If you go through the dealer you will pay more then you need to. I know, I used to work for lexus. Anyone can do those, very easy and just get them food. That always works for me. Now the drive tensioner, is leaking? Sounds like a seal problem without looking at it. How old is the car is what you need to ask yourself and is it worth spending the money on it. If nothing else, get that problem fixed and get someone else to do the brakes. FYI Dealers always charge you more, go look around and call the little places like pepboys or midas and the little mom and pop shops. They charge less because they want to compete for your business. Hope that helps. GSXR TECH

any time you go to a dealer you have a GOOD chance of getting bent over. try shopping around with independent service shops before going to a dealer. get at least 3 FREE estimates before committing to a repair. and ask about their warranty.
