Check your oil pressure, before driving it anymore. Could be a pressure switch, pump, etc something that can be replaced and you still get more life out of the car. If it's the bearings then start adding heavier oil and drive it till it dies or you rebuild it.

Sometimes the oil pressure can vary. The pump is driven by the camshaft, so, when the engine speed rises, the pump speed goes up, and thus, the oil pressure goes up. It is normal for the oil pressure to vary, the typical pressure is 60 psi or so, but it can go as low as 20 psi without any ill effect, it varies depending on the manufacturer. If it goes low enough to cause problems, the 'idiot light' will illuminate (all cars have one, the most catastrophic thing that can happen to a motor is a loss of all oil pressure). If that happens, shut the car off immediately. For now, try putting a little bit heavier oil in and see if that improves it. If you usually use 10W-30, try 10W-40. If you see no difference and are still concerned, take it to a mechanic.

Assuming you checked the oil, it is probably either the oil pump itself, or the main bearings are worn out. If it isn't knocking yet, it could run like that for a long time. Put in some heavier oil and drive it till it knocks. Then rebuild it as soon as it starts to make knocking noises. I've had engines run for 50K miles like that.
This is what happens when you don't change the oil enough.

hi,
common problem on chevy, camshaft bearing goes bad. the oil pressure sensor is located on top of the engine. so when cam. bearing goes bad you lose Pressure at the cam bearing, so the sensor is not reading any pressure. when you give it gas the oil pump, pumps more oil so you get a good reading.

It can be a few things but to figure it out you must start by checking your oil level. Make sure its topped up, run it for a few minutes then check the gage again. If it still shows post question again but indicate that your oil level is fine.
