The biggest consideration may be whether you'll end up stripping the threads in the engine head when you try to remove them. I'd change them after 6 years of service even if you've got less than 50,000 miles on platinum plugs. Make sure the replacement plugs have anti-seize compound on the threads before they're installed. If your having any engine problems, now's a good time to have your cylinder compression checked when the plugs are removed. You'll also want to change the plug wires if they've never been changed, but make sure to replace them one at a time so you won't get the wires on the wrong plug.

the big three (ford, chevy, chrysler) have been using platinum sparkplugs in their vehicles for quite a while now. they do tend to run a lot longer, but still need to be changed.
for a ford, use motorcraft or autolite plugs
for a chevy, use ac delco plugs
for a chrysler, use bosch or champion plugs
dont get the cheapest ones, put back in what u took out, it will work better that way
also inspect (change) your plug wires while your at it

well, it could be the fact that you are a lucky *** or those are some good spark plugs.... my brother told me that spark plugs should be changed at least every six months.. i would recommend changing them along with your wires, oil, oil filter, gas and air filter.. basically when u give your car a tune up.. if your car was brand new, that may explain why you haven't had to change them.. it could even be because you don't drive your car as hard as others (like myself) do... in the future, if i were you, i'd get them changed on a regular schedule or whenever i get my oil and gas filters changed.. this will help your car stay in good working condition.

Every 6 months is a waste of good spark plugs and money.... what happens overtime is the gap widens, the electrode wears out and they will make the engine harder and harder to start, and worse on gas. Might foul after a while as well. Replace them, and the wires.

Yea they are black as hell get new ones quick before you start miss firing and it throws your engine rythem off if one plug stops working basicly you lose all power that cylinder makes so its like turning a v6 into a v5 and your going to start wasting gas cause the other 5 have to work harder since they have to drag a dead piston around and it could cause serious problems

Its reccommended that you change them about every 60,000 miles. If your sparkplugs weren't working, then you car wouldn't run, so if your car runs, i'd say your sparkplugs are ok, but would reccommend replacing them.

as far as i know, this is the reason every where you go these days you see a auto parts store, could it be because every one has a car that possibly needs parts to keep working correctly, get your owners manual out and read it very slowly, maybe this could help in the maintenance of your car, do ya think??

i might recommend getting a Chilton handbook for that vehicle. it is conceivable that they might desire to be torqued to a undeniable spec--uncertain on that. yet you will might desire to alter each plug one after the different to maintain the firing order in line. additionally, i might replace the wires too. Tha facilitates overall performance and will strengthen gas mileage. returned circulate one after the different and don't cut back to rubble the firing order. easily, purely get rid of a cord and a plug, replace it and circulate directly to the subsequent one. you will in all likelihood desire a deep-properly socket for the plugs.
