it has been 3months still no title. his landlord gave hime a bill of sale said that he daughter needed to sign title, still nothing. I live in Ala. how can I get a title with just a bill of sale, the car was for my neice for her 16 birthday, but she can't drive it until we get a title. Any help on this would be very nice. Thanks

It will be for about 4 days and a normal compact car/sedan. I think my credit card may also cover rental insurance... but a quick look at the website sounds like I need a PH.D in order to get a claim back from them! Not sure yet if my own personal car insurance will cover me.....

A guy ran a light and totaled my car which I owe $9000 dollars on. The NADA says its worth only 6300! My back and neck hurt like hell for 2 days, plus I wasn't able to earn a living for a whole week. The other insurance company offered me 6300 for my car, but that wouldn't even pay it off or give me a down payment for another. I don't know what I should do. What do you think? I don't want to get rich, but I am the one who has been inconvienced by someone else's not paying attention, and seem to be doing all the suffering.

What are the requirements for the adress listed on a Illinois Drivers License?

Whose adress needs to be on there?

If someone is without a permanent adress what might they be puting on their drivers license?

I have been able to keep changing my billing adress and keep my fomrer permanent residence (a family members home who I can not get to conveniently) on my Drivers License no problem. This has not been a problem until now, where I need checks to match my ID.

I plan to get my License changed ASAP I just would like to understand what the rules are as far as the adress goes.

the dealership 1. wants to raise my payments another 50.00 and also wants me to put an extra 500.00 down after they agreed I wouldn't have to put any more money down. Can I return the car and get my down payment back or is it to late. I've had the car for two weeks and I signed a contract. Please help

Hi,

While reversing I accidentally took a very small amount of paint of another car. After dropping off a friend back at their house, I returned to see if I caused some damage (which I did). I waited for about two hours but left a note after the owner had not returned but the owner has not contacted me.

I am 16 and was pulled over last night because i didnt have my lights on. Unfortantly i couldnt find my license, registration, or insurance although all 3 were in the car. It was after curfew and i had passengers in the car. Any imput would be great.

I totalled my car. I worked it out with the claims rep to get 17000 and some change for the car (which was what nada.com and bluebook.com agreed with.) The rep comes back and tells me that he will give me my price but he will include the sales tax for the new car that I buy.( For those that don't know, progressive states that when you will total your car. They will reimburse the sales tax of the new car if you buy it in 30 days) I refused because that would mean they are giving me a price for 1000 less than it is suppose ti be. So we finally made a deal for the price of the car. I met with the rep from a different office and they gave me a letter, stating they will cover my sales tax and my total loss settlement. In exchange for my title to the car. I purchased a new car and it has been about a week and the reps (3 of them) refuse to pay for the reimbursment. what is it I should do? I am at the point where I am going to sue them. Does anyone have a suggestions.

I had a car accident last week, and is not my fault as the other driver ran into me (he amitted it to the police). the car wasnt in a drivable condition as it has to be towed to the repair people. my question is, as my car is only a month old, what's my right in relation the the claims etc with the car. To be honest I dont really want the car to be fixed. thank you

There are special circumstances for me here. I have never had a job where I travel to different cities every 2 months. This is what I am going to be doing. My problem is that since my jeep is co-signed, how much will I have to go through to get my jeep registered in a different town? My friend is not going with me obviously and I pay for everything on the car. I can't transfer the title to my name until the jeep is paid off and that'll be at least 3 or 4 years. I will be doing construction at hotels so I am trying to figure out the most efficient way of doing this. Plus I will need to get tags for my jeep in the new state. I won't be living there long enough to have proof of residence or be able to do anything else. The state is going to be Connecticut if anyone is wondering. That is the 1st place I am going to next week.

i have sold my car & will be keeping my reg. no. usually i would apply to dvla to have it re-registered for the new owner ..but the buyer has his own reg. plate ..so what happens ? do i re-register it then he puts his number on...the car has never had its own reg i've had it from new

my common law husband of 15 years passed away jan. 31 2007. the cars were in his name only. i didn't care. i trusted him. now i am at a loss as to what to do. we realized the pink slips were missing a few weeks before he went into the hospital. as well , we found out that calif. doesn't recognize common law marriages. i'm terrified that his mother will try to get the cars and take them from me to give to her 2 worthless kids....adults of 56-58 years old. when my husband was in the hospital i didn't think about anything like this. i thought he was coming home. but after 48 days he just couldn't hang on any longer. he had been very ill with lung problems for several years. now i don't know what to do. the cars are old. an 87 toyota tercel wagon and a 94 dodge shadow. i'm on ssi and live 20 miles from town. and twice a month i have to go to my doctor 140 miles round trip. i tried to get some answers from ca.dmv.gov. but i couldn't get anywhere. the dodge needs tags this month. HELP !!!
