I got a letter stating from the other insurance company stating I was at fault because I drove around the semi which is far from the truth. This was a rear end collision so by Iowa law, he was at fault and got a ticket. He tried to contest his ticket giving this such reason and lost, even with a defense lawyer. Given the fact that a judge didnt believe him because he wasnt 100% sure if I came around him, can an insurance deny you a claim and say the majority of fault is with me. Well the real reason they denied my claim was because I told them I had a whiplash as a result of the accident and was still seeking treatment. I'm getting a lawyer to resolve this issue, but how can an insurance company determine fault when legally you werent at fault?

Hi. I am in a bit of a panic. I have only ounce before claimed on my insurance, after someone rammed me by accident. They admitted responsobility but I never got a penny because I was later involved in a total crash that cost me multiple jaw fractures and my no claims bonus. Even though the first accident was the other parties fault I still got nothing because an unrelated crash was my fault. Anyway I will be taking the other parties insurance company to a small claims caught soon.

Besides the point, I am dead scarred about what is happening with my car. I don't know for certain that it is stolen and I dont know how my insurance company will handle that. If my car does not get found I will only get two thirds of what I paid for it and its worth a lot more. Worse still if it gets found broken into after I make a claim will I be held accountable for it being found.

I always lock the car and poor short term memory with bad navogational skills is not my fault.

My family (wife daughter) first day on vacation.....sitting at left turn lane, red light, drunk driver slams into us from the rear at 40 mph, totally destroyed front end of his car, but somehow slammed it into reverse and took off across intersection. Cop sitting at intersection saw the whole thing and catches this PIECE OF chit. He is arrested an charged with at least one felony. We all have back and neck injuries (no not faking them, they are real. Get hit at 40 mph and see how you feel) go to hospital, xrays negative for bone fractures, but we all have whiplash , headaches back pain.

How do I proceed with insurance co. going forward? Is the settlement higher because he was drunk and ran, charged with felonies, or does this matter. Can i also personally suit him? I want this FUC to pay, he almost kiled my daughter and she was the most seriously injured. Any advise is appreciated.

My Calif. registration expires on March 14, and I plan to move to Michigan in mid-April. If I get new Calif. tags, I pay for a whole year, but I'll have to register it in Michigan by mid-May, I suppose. What's the best thing to do?

I co-signed a loan to help my daughter buy a car. I know the perils of cosigning a loan, so no lashings or nasties please! I allowed her to handle her own insurance, but made sure she kept up with the payments. She recently lost control of the vehicle and hit an object. The vehicle was severely damaged and not driveable. We can't say totaled, because she failed to obtain full coverage. She lives in another state so micro-managing her affairs was not possible. It was a given she would know to get full coverage on a vehicle under lien. I can pay the lien and I'm not looking to litigate against her. What are options in this situation after I pay the loan off? What can I do with the vehicle to gain money back?

I drove into someones ditch, and was going to repair it myself, but they called my company and said I also hit their fence, which I didn't. I have pictures to show that, but now I am stuck. If I admit to the ditch damage I assume responsibility for the fence, right? What should I do?

I have just the liability insurance, so I cannot get any help from my insurance company. My car is fixed in body shop and I don't have money to pay the car mechanic to get it back. Her insurance company is not committing anything. They are waiting for final claim from one more car she banged. What should I do? They didn't even agree to pay for rental.

Is it safe to pay the car mechanic from my own pocket and later get the money from her car insurance company?
Should I go to a lawyer? If yes, recommend me a good and cheap lawyer in and around washington DC?
Can I sue the other person for my entire damage? Or both, her insurance company and her? as they didn't even agree to pay for my car rental, and also not paying for my car damages.
Can I claim for the car depreciation due to this accident from the other person?

My husband and I just sold our house and moved to another state. We plan to build our own home in the new state and are currently renting a house. I was extremely surprised to learn that our auto insurance increased by $200 a year because we are now renting a home instead of owning a home. The insurance already increased by approx. $500 because we moved to another "higher risk" location, which is understandable. But can anyone explain the rationale for asking more in auto insurance because people are renters and not owners of the home? What has that got to do with the auto insurance?

I few weeks ago I was driving home and a car ran into the back of my car. The police was called, an inicent report was taken but, the police said that he did not write an accident report. The damage was minimum to my car ($650 damage His insurance estimates) however, I was pretty shookup and I went to the emergency room ($1499 bill). I just got a letter from the insure's insurance (nationwide) that say they will not pay . The letter stated that insure told them that another car had hit his car that was why he ran into the back of my car. This is a complete lie since there was no other car even on the street. What do I do?
