If I apply to renew my driver's licence?

do i get it backdated from when the old one ran out or from the date i applied(uk licence)

The date you applied...no problems.

Hi most states have you in the computer for years. So in reality you always have a license . Even after it expires for non payment . Call or go down to your State DOT . They will tell you the status ... Most often you only need to fill out a re-newel form with a payment . Many states use your birth-date for a re-newel date and this will not change .. good luck ...
