I know it's a "scissors" jack, I know that it lifts one side of the car at a time, I know where it fits underneath the car, but it doesn't go up!!! How do I get it to make the car go up? I had a flat today and a friend had to use their jack because we couldn't make the VW jack go up.

The alarm button on my car goes off for no reason where do I take it to get it checked out? Can't afford VW garage so do I take it to an ordinary garage, one whcih specialises in alarms(electronics) or are there places which deal with alarms?

Have no one to ask so any help would be appreciated ! X

The speedomoter in my 2002 passat is sweeping wrong. when i accelerate the needle ticks like a cheap watch instead of sweeping normally. does anyone have any ideas on hoe to fix this?

2000 1.8 lt turbo overheats like a maniac!
it's happened twice now, i suspected it was the water pump so i went to the weep well and nothing there! the oil pan was cracked so i replaced that little problem tute suite.
now i'm at my wit's end, the darn thing should be running at 100% by now! but i can't get more than one hundred yards without the engine and overheat light coming on.
anyone have any idea what's going on?

I USED to get 35 mpg. then suddenly it went down to lower than 20. I had it looked at, was told there were no leaks, put 5 gallons in it, and got 150 miles in a single trip (appx 30 mpg) so am I being paranoid? Or is someone stealing my gas? (I know some cars have a kind of mesh thing that will keep hoses from being able to reach all the way down into the tank...is my Jetta one?)

i have my crankshaft @ tdc w/reference to the mark in the bellhousing window, i have my camshaft @ tdc w /the camshaft locking tool, & my fuel injection pump locking pin will insert into the locking slot, all i can figure is somehow i am off on the fuel inj pump timing. can anyone help? thanks!

I'm going to be buying a car soon.. I have a budget of about 12,000 and I'm looking into VW's. I want a truck, but I know there are no new VW trucks. I have herd they are exceptionally easy to fix and maintain.
Is it worth buying an older VW considering fixing problems and such, or is it better to go with a newer model VW?

I've got a mark 4 VW Golf 1998. The O/S/R door needs a new door catch mechanism. Does anyone know if it is possible to do this job yourself or do I have to get a mechanic to do it? I've been quoted £25 for the job by a local mechanic. If I can do this job myself, do I need any special tools?

I think I may need my serpentine belt replaced on my 1995 VW Jetta. There is a very annoying high pitched whirring sound. Could this be it? And, how much would I expect to pay for it to be replaced? Also, what would happen if it weren't replaced in time? Could this do any damage to my vehicle?

I have a 2002 VW Jetta. Usually when I lock it with the key fob, the horn beeps. I just had my car detailed and now the horn doesn't beep when I lock it. Any ideas on how to fix it? Did the detailer maybe hit something to deactivate the beep?

The only Touareg I've ever seen in my life belongs to my snooty neighbor who has everything, and they are heavily overpriced, and according to this website: http://aolsvc.edmunds.com/apps/vdpcontainers/do/ViewTypeModels/category=type/attribute=suv/category2=market/attribute2=diesel they placed below the 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha in most sold vehicles. Volkswagen needs to stop beating the same old dead horse with a stick and get rid of the old to make room for the new if you ask me.

Every time my bug heats up it dies... I can't keep the car running.. I've changed the spark plugs and the wires... I have also tried a whole different carb... (not a new one tho)... After it warms up as soon as I take my foot off the gas it just wants to die... THANKS....
